The first king of Aurea leads a failed attack on a dragon, resulting in his death and the kingdom’s pact with the creature. Centuries later, Elodie, daughter of Lord Bayford, agrees to marry Prince Henry of Aurea to help her family’s poverty. After their wedding, Elodie discovers she’s a sacrificial offering to the dragon and is thrown into its lair by Henry at his mother Queen Isabelle's command.
Surviving the fall, Elodie escapes the dragon’s attacks, finding a cave with glowing silk worms and a map to safety. She uncovers the truth behind the royal sacrifices and is rescued by a party led by her father, though they are killed by the dragon. Elodie flees, only to learn that Isabelle plans to sacrifice her sister, Floria, as a replacement.
Elodie returns to rescue Floria, confronting the dragon and convincing it that the royals deceived her. After healing the dragon, she exposes the Aureans' betrayal, leading to the palace's destruction. Elodie, Floria, and Lady Bayford return home with supplies, accompanied by the dragon.
