Plot:
Set 65 million years ago, on the distant planet Somaris, 65 begins with Mills, a pilot who takes on a two-year space mission to earn money for the medical treatment of his sick daughter, Nevine. During the journey, his ship, the Zoic, is struck by an asteroid field, causing it to crash on an unfamiliar planet—Earth. Mills discovers that his crew has perished in the crash, and his ship is beyond repair. In his despair, he contemplates suicide, but his plans change when he finds a young girl, Koa (Greenblatt), who survived the crash.
Mills, unable to communicate effectively with Koa due to a broken translator, decides to protect her as they seek safety. They discover that Earth, 65 million years ago, is populated by dangerous, aggressive creatures—dinosaurs. Along their journey, they rescue a small armored dinosaur from a tar pit, only for it to be killed by a pack of predatory theropods. Mills and Koa are also attacked by various species, including Lagosuchus, Oviraptors, and a massive quadrupedal archosaur.
After finding temporary shelter in a cave, Mills and Koa face further challenges, including a rockfall that separates them. Mills is injured by an Oviraptor, while Koa traps a dromaeosaur and kills it using explosives that Mills had given her. Eventually, they reunite and continue their trek to a mountain where Mills believes a functional escape shuttle from the Zoic has landed.
As they ascend, Mills learns that an asteroid, whose debris caused the crash, is about to strike Earth within the next 12 hours. Reaching the shuttle, Mills lies to Koa, telling her that her family is waiting at the shuttle. However, Koa soon discovers the truth—that her family perished in the crash, as did Mills’ daughter, Nevine. In a moment of emotional revelation, Mills opens up about his loss and promises to protect Koa as they await rescue.
Their plans take another blow when asteroid debris causes the shuttle to crash. As they make their way through the dangerous landscape, they are pursued by two Tyrannosaurus rex. Mills successfully kills both, but they are then hunted by the giant archosaur that he had previously injured. In a final confrontation, Mills lures the creature into a geyser field, hoping the boiling water will stop it. Though the geyser only partially blinds the creature, Koa manages to use a poison-coated dinosaur claw to blind it further, causing it to fall into a boiling geyser and die.
With the asteroid impact imminent, the two escape the planet just as the cataclysmic event occurs, wiping out the dinosaurs. As the film ends, Mills and Koa, now safely in the escape pod, head toward a rescue vessel. The closing credits show the evolution of Earth, from the extinction of the dinosaurs to the present day.
