The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, J.K. Simmons, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, and Wesley Kimmel. The plot follows Callum Drift (Johnson), the head of North Pole security, who teams up with hacker Jack O'Malley (Evans) to rescue a kidnapped Santa Claus (Simmons) on Christmas Eve.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Seven Bucks Productions, Chris Morgan Productions, and The Detective Agency, Red One is envisioned as the first installment of a Christmas-themed action film franchise. Principal photography took place from October 2022 to February 2023, with filming locations including Atlanta.

The film premiered internationally on November 6, 2024, through Warner Bros. Pictures and was released in the United States on November 15 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Despite its high production budget, estimated between $200 million and $250 million, Red One has grossed $167 million globally and received predominantly negative reviews from critics.
